Graduate Hotel Charlottesville is located in the center of it all. Just across the street from the University of Virginia Grounds and just a short walk away from The Rotunda and the Lawn. Pinn Hall is home to the University of Virginia School of Medicine, which trains future physicians and medical researchers in numerous fields. The building, which opened in 1972, is named in honor of Vivian Pinn, a 1967 graduate of the UVA School of Medicine who became the first African-American woman to chair Howard University College of Medicine's Department of Pathology and who served as the first director of the National Institute of Health's Office of Research on Women's Health.
